The Situation
The Crop Capsule Company faced two connected automation challenges. On the ground, assembling biological capsules containing live larvae at scale required 3 to 4 operators working a full shift to produce the required volumes. The process also had to stay within the biological lifespan of the larvae, making speed and consistency operationally critical, not just commercially desirable.
In the air, deployment from aircraft relied on manual operator judgement for timing and placement, introducing variability, limiting traceability, and making it difficult to verify coverage across target areas.
The Work
React Automation automated the assembly line. The process that previously required 3 to 4 operators is now run by a single person. Two high-precision laser line profilers validate critical capsule dimensions at micron-level resolution in real time, rejecting any non-conforming units before they reach the field.
For aerial deployment, a GPS-driven automated release system replaced manual drop timing. All deployment data is captured automatically and output as graphical PDF reports, giving the customer a verifiable record of every deployment run with full GPS mapping.
The Result
Assembly headcount dropped from 3 to 4 operators to one. Throughput now consistently meets the biological lifespan constraints that manual processes struggled to achieve reliably.
Aerial deployment placement accuracy improved, operator variability was removed from the process, and automated post-operation reports provide a traceable, auditable record of every deployment.
