The Situation

A leading textile manufacturer producing polyester insulation products needed to move beyond slow, labour-intensive cutting processes. Existing manual and semi-automated operations were limiting throughput and creating inconsistency in cut quality across different product types.

The Work

React Automation designed and delivered a complete 6-axis robotic cutting cell. A custom software interface allows production staff to upload DXF files and define cutting paths on a per-job basis, no robot programming knowledge required. Motion paths are generated dynamically at runtime, meaning no fixed programs to maintain and no manual teaching when new products are introduced.

The system eliminates tool changeovers for different blade angles, reducing setup time and operator handling risk.

The Result

Throughput increased 5-fold, removing the production bottleneck created by manual cutting processes. Cut consistency improved across all products, with robotic precision eliminating operator variability. The system scales with the business : new products can be introduced quickly, changeover time is minimal, and ongoing engineering support requirements are low. The customer is no longer dependent on additional CNC equipment to meet growing demand.
